Berkeley Glass was proud to contribute to the extensive $4.2 million restoration of Winchester’s historic Rouss City Hall — a Romanesque Revival landmark originally constructed in 1900. The renovation sought to preserve and modernize the four-story structure, balancing the building’s original character with new systems and materials that meet today’s energy and performance standards.

Our scope included fabrication and installation of custom storm windows, interior glazing, and specialty glass features that provide improved energy efficiency while maintaining the authenticity of the building’s historic façades. Berkeley Glass worked closely with the general contractor and design team to ensure every glass component integrated seamlessly with both original masonry and newly exposed architectural details.

The restored Rouss City Hall now stands as a blend of “then and now” — where historic arched openings and cast-iron columns meet contemporary glass and daylight. The project revitalized one of Winchester’s most recognizable civic landmarks, creating a more functional, efficient, and visually open workspace for city departments and residents alike.
